I called a customer named Gabe S down in L.A. on Monday. He had a fit question and I think I answered it. We carried on about baseball and how the Giants / Dodgers rivalry is alive and well. He mentioned his work helping Greenpeace, which took me to a fantastic memory in 1992.
A young lady knocked on my door in Palo Alto and said this, "I’m with Greenpeace. You know what we’re about. I’m here to collect money." Her clarity and single minded approach appealed to me as I went for my checkbook. The whole thing took about 2 minutes and I bet the next house was a repeat of the wizardry I just saw first hand.
This approach sums up what Tony and I strive for - absolute focus, being dead set on who we are and what we represent in the denim world, and the willingness to go out there and hustle our goods to whomever will give us a chance to speak about wearing quality over fast fashion.
