Clampdown - Japanese Selvedge Denim Shirt

(18 reviews) Write a Review

Our Clampdown double chest pocket shirt in 10 oz. Japanese selvedge with corozo buttons.  We consider this shirt, given the weight of the denim, to be a "shirt-jacket", therefore it runs big.  Spec measurements here. Made in San Francisco, Calif. USA.

Nothing fancy about this shirt. Several buttons, two pockets. Right side pocket has a bit of a hidden knife slot.  This is just fine with us and we have always felt the need to stay away from trying to create the next and greatest new anything, so we take pride and comfort making shirts that could have been made 50 years ago.  No nonsense, just a well-built shirt made to last. This new Clampdown Selvedge shirt leans on the heavy side since we chose a 10.5 oz. fabric. It is a bit "slubby" but not to the extent that you feel like you need one of those tape rollers to start your day.

Thanks for wearing pants, and shirts...

    Very Pleased

Quality of this shirt is undeniable. I’m looking forward to breaking it in and seeing how it ages. As others have said, don’t be afraid to size DOWN. I’m 6’2” 205 and went all the way to a medium. Shipping was lightening fast and customer service was top notch. Thanks!

    Everyone is Happy…

I’m 5’10 148lbs Tony advised me to order the small. Fit is perfect, shoulders, sleeve length, and enough in the body to layer. Denim feels and looks terrific straight out of the packaging and it will just get better with time and wear. Great (and useful) pocket details and corozo buttons! What’s not to like? Shout out to all the team at Tellason. Their products, workmanship, and customer service are outstanding.

What a great shirt, love the color

I have been looking for a great selvedge shirt for years that was black or unique from the standard indigo. This shirt is great. The weight has it described as a good overshirt or jacket, but I think it works just as well for the daily. It is a big larger than normal, so go down a size and it all seems to balance out. As a tall man with long arms, I really appreciate the generous cut.

    Perfect over shirt

Perfect over shirt. As always the sleeves are too long for me maybe they’ll shrink a little more. Bought a large. I’m 5’ 10” and 175. Great service as always! Thanks guys.

The 10 oz. selvedge denim feels like it will last forever. The color is a wonderful dark, dark blue. It's a solid, durable shirt. I love it!

    Supreme quality

This clampdown is well worth it! I love the slight slub of this piece and I will be working in this many years to come. I love the pencil / Pen pocket that sits on the side of the left pocket providing easy access for me when I need to write down notes or have a customer in and they need to sign for stock. Thank you Tellason for the great service and fast shipping.

    Well done

I’m 6’2 195 42” chest and 36” arms and bought the large. I returned it for a medium and the fit was much better. For reference I usually wear an XL in the clampdown style and it’s not baggy, but this definitely is oversized by at least 1 size or more. The medium fit still has plenty of arm length and a more modern fit but not tight and can still fit lightweight flannel underneath. Well made and beautiful slubby fabric. Follow the garment measurements and you’ll be fine.

Body of shirt / material is incredible, however arm length is freakishly long , buttoned sleeves hang nearly 7 inches over my fingertips, will have tailored as I don’t ride a bike with apehangers
