Our Clampdown shirt made in San Francisco using 100% cotton, 4 oz. Japanese fabric.
In October 2018, my wife and I met up in Paris for our anniversary. I was in Germany visiting denim shops, while she was in Dusseldorf working her bunz off at a kid's trade show. It is important to know that couples need to make some effort once in a while to do things that focus on just the two of you, without a kid in sight (thanks grandmas out there for watching the young ones and not letting the house burn to the ground).
It happened to be fashion week, which is has never been on my radar, surprise surprise, but I am guilty of enjoying all the "peacocking" going on from the moment you walk outside. One day, we enjoyed a fair amount of red wine for lunch and walked around Le Marais looking for everything and nothing. I remember m'lady getting worked up over a bunch of shirtless construction guys building scaffolding in front of the Pompidou Centre. They may as well have been the French National Gymnastics Team by the looks of their chiseled abs, etc...
About a block away, we found a vintage jewelry shop that literally held two customers at one time, and the french woman who owned it. As mentioned, this whole slice of the day was fueled by enough wine that made us happy to be on foot instead of on a bicycle. Now, out comes the gold bracelets from the early 1900's. Drunk or not, there is no way we are leaving this closet size of a store without supporting it which is a bit of a risk considering there were no price tags other than our purple teeth naivety and her nimbleness to adjust the $ on the fly. Five minutes later, my wife has a new bracelet and a twinkle in her eye that says "I will remember this forever, thank you, you beautiful man of mine!" At least that is what I am telling myself as I write this.
Point being, I was wearing this Clampdown shirt that day. It was a meaningful afternoon for us and the details I can recall will help me look at things like small shops, good food and a great woman with fondness for miles.
There is no special story about our discovery of this fabric like J. Peterman would spin. It is made with Japanese fabric. It is lighter weight than most of our shirts (timely since it is April) and the last I checked, stripes are always in style.
Now go out and do something clever in it!
Added this shirt to the collection and it has quickly become a favorite. Comfortable fabric, great cut and quality that is a staple for Tellason. Another great product. I tell you, you can’t go wrong with Tellason.
Will you all ever have different or more button ups available? Right quick here, i'm gonna have 'em all for the classroom (I can't fuck up shirts this expensive working in the forest/garden). What do I do then?
Much like one of my favorite bands, this shirt does not disappoint. Tends to wrinkle a bit so keep the iron handy. I’m 6’, 182# and the large fits like it was made for me.
This shirt is great as a casual shirt to wear with jeans, but can also be a more dressy piece to wear out with khakis and a blazer. Great attention to detail as always, and the fabric is soft and comfortable
I have been wearing Tellason everyday for over 9 years. The quality and service is unmatched. This is one of my first collared shirts and it’s special. It looks good with jeans but could be used for dressing up if needed. The color, texture and nice light weight are great. I would like another but “less is more”!
