When I was five, my mom was walking barefoot down our little hallway and let out a yell I still remember. She stepped on a perfectly placed toothpick and the dang thing went right through the middle of her foot. It looked like one of those cocktail olives but instead of an olive, it was her foot. She put my sister and I in the car, drove to the emergency room where they pulled out that thing from the top. She is one tough bird and not a word was said about it.
Now, if you see me reaching down tomorrow picking up a random toothpick (anyone's toothpick to be clear) you now know why. I have to believe I have saved at least one pedestrian's foot over the last 55 years. You are welcome.
And once again, at a glance, this story has zero to do with our Item of the Week. Or does it. Just like my infinity clause about picking up stray toothpicks, Tony and I have the same principle when it comes to making clothes. Distracted by the incoming trend we are not.
