You see a big pocket on a jacket or a pair of pants and the mind thinks, "what could fit in that pocket?"
Tony made jeans back in the 90's that jumped into the big jean, wide leg, big pocket phenomena. My daughter wears these now and she sees my expression in the morning. Being a bit of a disruptor, she enjoys the style and my discomfort, in equal parts.
Back to the warehouse circa 1995. Tony was checking things out, gathering info about the new arrivals. A lady who helped manage things was with him and she mentioned that you could put a chicken in the back pocket! She was probably right and that simple take has stayed in our collective consciousness for 30 years running.
Now, the closest we can come to this old pocket moment is with our Ghurka pants. A nice big pocket on the thigh has real purpose if you choose to put some valuables in there. The fit is a bit loose with a tapered leg. These are made in Italy using a 100% cotton herringbone fabric.
