When I was home from college one summer, some friends and I traveled from our hometown to the Marin City Flea Market (located less than one mile from Tellason's current HQ in Sausalito, California). This flea market was well known for its amazing selection of military clothing and denim on offer.
In fact, The Clash visited the flea market when they were in the Bay Area. It was at this market that I bought my first pair of Ghurka pants. They were quite different from our current Ghurka offerings -- they had a nutty waistband with buckles, big double pleats and since they were vintage, a funny smell.
Our version is made in a beautiful, rinsed herringbone twill fabric from Italy, available in olive and khaki. They're button fly, have two button flap back pockets, two welt side pockets and a super handy large pocket with button closure on the left thigh.
