20 years from now, this jean will resonate exactly the way it did for us in 2009 when we drove Tony's old Volvo wagon to the factory to pick up 8 boxes of our cut #1. Nine boxes would have meant that one of them would have sat on my lap for the drive back to Tony's garage, so 8 is great...
The John Graham Mellor IS that fit that you can hang your hat on, if you know what I mean- a true straight leg that runs a little bit slim with a lower rise. Absolutely nothing has changed about the fit, which is going on 12 years now.
Every company has their north star- Levis "501", WD40 and their blue and yellow can (with a red straw attachment), Kraft and that blue box of mac and cheese, Eichler and its flat roof house with an atrium right in the middle. For us, it is and always will be the John Graham Mellor.
I submitted lots of questions and Tony answered every one. This is my first pair of raw denim so I had a lot! Been on the fence about it for a few years and finally took the plunge. I have only had them a week and half, and worn them just about everyday, time will tell but the quality of the denim and the way it's constructed is amazing. Again my first pair of raw denim so, I don't have anything to compare them to. I did do a lot of research and wanted an American made product, and I can't imagine it gets much better than this. I can click "Buy it now" from Amazon to order something but I love to get service for some things, and that's what I got! Reach out to these guys with your questions before you buy and you'll get something that fits without the back and forth. I'll give an update on the jeans after I break em in, but for now I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
First pair of selvedge Tellasons in a number of years after buying Stock. They're still incredibly crafted and exceptional customer service. *****
Perfect fit. Purchased size 34. I am 6 feet / 160 lbs. Gotta shorten them a bit but now sweat.
The fit, the feel, the quality, the details. I could not be happier. I'm all in. Thank you!
Second pair of Tellason's I've purchased. Initially bought and love the Ladbroke Groves. Snatched these up as soon as they were Item of the Week. Fantastic fit, durable as all hell, and super sharp looking. Great communication and fast shipping. Customer for life.
You won’t find better quality or craftsmanship than Tellason jeans. You also won’t find two nicer guys than Pete and Tony. Great jeans, great people.
Found Tellason after what I thought would be a pretty easy search for a pair of selvedge jeans that's 100% cotton, and NOT stretch denim. Turns out that was harder than anticipated. But I am very happy that I found Tellason, and I am very happy with this pair of jeans. Excellent construction, they look great, and the fabric is breaking in nicely after a couple of weeks. I'm on the shorter side (5'6"), and they recommended the John Graham Mellors. Great recommendation. These jeans run true to size. I wear a size 33 according to most brands, and a Tellason 34 fits me perfectly. So you may want to size up. Use the fit charts. Also, customer service has been outstanding. Without belaboring all the details, I had an issue with my order going AWOL, and they shipped out a replacement pair, no questions asked. The original pair eventually showed up, so I sent it back to Tellason.
First ever pair of raw denim jeans for me. I’ve been a Levi’s guy for most of my life. These jeans are far superior. Definitely feels different but are surprisingly comfortable right out of the package. I expected them to be quite stiff but they weren’t that bad. These do not fit as slim as I anticipated though. I’m 5’8” and weigh 146. I normally wear 511 Levi’s in a 30 x 32. These will not be as snug as the 511, at least prewashed. Highly recommend
I first bought a pair of Tellason Stock and that lead me to trying a pair of the selvedge jeans. I decided to go with Tellason's original in 14.75 oz and they are exactly what I hoped they would be. They are more of a straight leg than a slim on me, but they look great. I have lost a lot of weight in the last 18 months (about 150 pounds), so jeans like these used to be something that weren't made in my size. I am thrilled to be able to wear them now.
