Chinos
In 1992, I traveled to Gothenburg to visit a young lady that I had met in San Francisco earlier that year. We wrote letters and developed a crush that made me pick up the phone and book a flight a few months later. I landed with great excitement and was met at the airport with the equivalent of a handshake and the suggestion that I should have come to Sweden much earlier.
Tensions ran high as we drove her Saab / Lancia back to her place. She mentioned that after our meeting, she got serious with someone else and that was that. Not at all sure if I even put my bag down and just got the heck out of there and headed to the train station to buy a ticket to Stockholm.
Once there, I saw a big restaurant / club of sorts called Café Opera. This place was full of early tech bros with incredible suits and "back slick" hairstyle to go with it. I stepped to the bar and ordered a Carlsberg. I did not know much about beer at the time so that choice must have been the equivalent of mainstream, “no character” brew here in the U.S. Two dudes behind me heard my selection and laid into me with a sarcastic "Carlsberg!". I can take the heat and glad to have stayed there long enough for them to order two "Coors Light", as if that was the holy grail of beers.
The only point I am trying to make here is just because something is from a far off, cool country, it does not automatically make it fantastic. Lucky us to have both with our fabrics from Japan. These are beautiful, durable and made in a country that cares about every step of the process. We just received a favorite of ours for a restock of our Clampdown salt & pepper selvedge shirt. This is a rare find so for now, we are happy to offer this to you as our "Item of the Week". Yours with a 20% discount.
