  This is a great alternative if you like to wear denim but try to stay away from the “Canadian Tuxedo” look. The fabric is light but has a nice drape. A friend of mine who knows textiles touched it twice because she thought it looked like a fine woolen cavalry twill. The pocket layout is unique and useful, but I agree with other reviewer who said the inner pocket could be larger. Sizing is true to fit, although the sleeves do run a little shorter than the Tellason chambray shirts in my closet. I didn’t really need another chore coat but this one colors outside the lines. It’s much more than another denim chore coat.

  While most people mourn the end of summer, for me it marks the start of Coverall Season. As the heat fades, it’s once again time to don my favorite article of clothing. Shrug into one and you’ve got pockets for anything you might need to carry. The standard weights carry me well into winter and the blanket lined version easily fends off the worst weather conditions I might be out in. But, seasons change and warm weather forces my Coverall Jackets back in the closet. I’ve always wished for a lightweight version. A 9 or 10 ounce weight should work, right? Maybe give me another month of wear? Well, wish no more. In heavy shirt territory, this new version feels considerably lighter than the 12.5 / 13 ounce standard weights. The new fabric is gorgeous (I hope it might find its way into an Elgin fit) and, as always, the construction is top notch. As I type this, it’s snowing and with the wind chill, it feels like -4 degrees outside. It’ll be a few months before this Coverall gets time in the rotation but I’m really looking forward to it.

  Let’s get the business stuff out of the way- I’m 5’10”, 195lbs, with proportional torsos. I normally wear a large in most garments and found Tellason’s measurements spot on. To me, the jacket is more brown in person when compared to the online photos. And I absolutely love it! It’s a light, breathable, denim that I can wear all year long (at least inside with the A/C) in the northeast. The large that I purchased is loose enough to be comfortable layering with a thin sweater, but not too loose where it looks sloppy. I love the “made in Japan” tag inside and appreciate that the last (bottom) button hole is placed a little higher than what I traditionally wear; makes the jacket drape better over my Spanish hips, lol. Also, it came with a nice thank you card from Tony and a Tellason branded pencil. Neither of which add to the garment, but makes the purchase feel a bit special. I’m always happy when I can support US businesses such as Tellason!
