Last week, m'lady, Susannah, was on the phone pretty late for work. She is an agent extraordinaire when it comes time to find you a house or sell the one you sleep in now. A fellow agent was doing his best to fluff his feathers and showing her just how much he knew about, well, everything. His macho mansplaining should have been saved for someone who cared about that and m'lady pretty much had it with this dude. She graciously suggested that he stop typing these countless text messages about how the industry works, and that he needs to call her on the phone. The texts persisted. "Call me" was her comeback every time. Finally, he did. I grabbed some chocolate covered apricots and took a front row seat. Oh my. My man, you picked the wrong lady to push around. She poetically silenced the fella and sorted things out.
Lessons all over the place here - one of which is to lean hard on real, old school communication. A phone call can cut to the chase and get you where you want to go in a challenging moment. We have this policy at Tellason. Some of you may have gotten a call from me or Tony. We probably began the conversation answering a question about denim but two minutes later, we were most likely discussing the virtues of what 1977 meant to music, or how much better AS Roma is compared to Lazio.
This ancient form of communication relates very little to our "Item of the Week" , but there is a sense of throwback style that plays into our Ankara jeans. Straight leg, mid rise, old vibes that reflect what we grew up wearing for generations. This is our base and we cut a run of it in a beautiful olive / brown selvedge from Japan. These are light(er) weight compared to our regular indigo denim, which ain't a bad thing all things said.
Yours this week with a 20% discount.
