Item of the Week
Bandara, in Corona Del Mar, makes pretty good food and has the best artichoke on planet earth, in my opinion. I am also pretty sure that this restaurant is the North Star when it comes to the true "cougar" lifestyle for southern California ladies looking for some companionship.
This night was crowded and there was no parking so we dropped our ladies off to put our name on the list and we parked the car. Minutes later, we walked into a zoo of fancy people flashing their watches and bank statements. Quickly, two women nestled up to the bar called and waved us over as we were looking for our birds. "Hey guys, chips / salsa???" We gave them a look then just sort of bailed on their generous offer since we made eye contact with our ladies across the way. Twenty years later, when Tony and I hear "chips / salsa" from anyone, we think of those two looking to connect.
The only thing I can find to connect the bar scene with these two and our "Item of the Week" is the strong reality of watching that salsa slide off a chip en route to my clean, white oxford shirt, had I been wearing it on that fateful night.
