Stripes will always be cool in my book. 8th grade rolled around and it was time for me and my friend, Ron Millar, to start our own business. We put an ad in the PennySaver and just like that, we were in business.
We made skimboards, you see, and I suppose this was my first job as a designer. We needed a compass for the radial corners but math kids, we were not. A glance around Ron's living room revealed a lampshade that worked perfectly as a template for our dream corners for our skimboards. We cut along the curved lines, sanded the hell out of them and gave each of them some vertical stripes that were commonplace in the surf industry at the time. But apparently, not that many people were looking for skimboards with stripes on them. Sales were not robust (zero sold). It did not matter, a great experience all the way.
So today, when fine goods with stripes on them come around, I am all in. In this case, Wabash fabric has its own history so we are happy to land on some and plug it into our new Paul Jacket. Heavy military influence here and the fabric has been rinsed so it is easy to wear right out of the box.
Yours this week as our " Item of the Week". Take 20% off and enjoy the ride.
Cheers ya'll,
