Tony and I were recently carrying on about how awesome and analog our childhood was with Cameron, a neighbor and frequent Tellason shopper. He has to be 25 years younger than us so when I explained the #1 toy for us 70's kids was the Cox dragster, complete with a high revving, gas fueled motor, he was all ears.
Now, this dragster had it all - water decals, skinny wheels in the front, big burnout wheels in the back, and more horsepower than you would have ever expected. The dragster was about a foot long and ran on a taught string you would hammer into the concrete. Start the engine, crank up the throttle and let those big back tires do the rest. Within seconds, it would be flying down the sidewalk with zero brakes, headed to the end of the line. Smart kids like us put a couch pillow down as the buffer to ensure your dragster could race another day. These were magical moments and there is a direct correlation to my love for stickers today based on all the stickers these race cars had.
Now, our jean jackets have built-in, interior pockets, that could have easily held said dragster. It would have been something to carry that thing around, fully fueled and ready to go, so you could pull it out at a pals house to lay down some rubber!
Maybe in my next life, but for now, we have good stock in our classic, 12.5oz selvedge denim jacket and want to offer it as our "Item of the Week". In addition to the interior pockets, there are also side pockets to keep your hands cozy when the weather dips once again. Yours with a 20% discount...
Cheer ya'll and once again, thanks for listening,
Tony Patella
