As a child of the '70s (and college guy of the '80s) and a privileged retiree for today, I bring a bit of life experience and a weird obsession with finding a great pair of chinos. These rank way up there. The button-fly design is a salute to G.I.-issue khakis, the ones we'd find in Army surplus stores 40 yrs ago. Tellason (i.e., those two seemingly chill S.F. Giants' fans from Marin Co.) got it right. I really love the full room on top and the smart subtle taper past the knee. The Japanese twill fabric is special with its high-twist slight sheen (what in-the-know chino fanatics covet if I can say so myself). Its medium weight and heft are just right. Sizing is accurate. I'm 6'1" 185lbs; I got the 34"W but a 33"W would also do. Bonus: my pair came with a handwritten thank-you note from one of the guys. In conclusion, these pants give me a hop in my step, whether I'm getting on an elevator or heading to my favorite watering hole. Thank you, Tellason! You're making chinos great again.
