Tapered leg, button-fly Chino. Made in San Francisco, Calif. USA of heavyweight (10 oz.) Japanese twill. Fit guide
These Chinos have been a key ingredient in our Tellason salad. Tony and I go back a long way with great memories of buying these up at some of the military supply vintage stores around the campus of SDSU in the early 80's. I remember my favorite shop was down this steep hill across the street from my barbershop (shout out Arnold's). The owners were fantastic and had a sewing machine in the back, along with a fired up kitchen that always seemed to be making a fresh batch of curry!
We would settle on a pair, then carefully instruct them to peg the hell out of them to the point where getting in and out had us pointing our toes straight down like some sort of plié move in ballet class.
Great memories, and I hope those lads down there still have the sense to keep those military surplus dreams going.
Enough about curry and pegging aspirations. Go Aztecs,
Tony Patella

For reference, I’m 5’4” and 130 lbs. Size 30 was too big. The silhouette is excellent. Slim, but still plenty of room in the thighs with a nice taper from the knee down. The quality of the fabric and sewing can’t be beat! I will exchange for size 29.
The tapered leg Tellason chinos are outstanding. With the high quality Japanese cotton twill, and the button fly, they bring the old-time classic quality. And with the tapered leg, they look more current.
While I am happy adding a pair of Tellason chinos in my wardrobe, I regret not having done so earlier. I have put off buying them for years, because of their price tag (approximately $200). In the meantime, I have probably wasted three times as much money, and even more time, trying to find a good, but less expensive, pair of pants. Tellason chinos feel premium, are comfortable, and they **fit.** Quality and fit are the reasons to buy Tellason. If you are in the market for chinos, but you can't afford a Tellason pair of chinos right now, don't waste your energy and money elsewhere. Save, and when you can afford them, or next time they are on sale, treat yourself.
If you are looking for an iconic chino. Here it is. Great material, great fit. Strongly recommended! Must have for every "authentic guy".
These pants are great! I had a pair in 30" waist that were just a bit too big. I got these in the 29" and they're comfortably snug in a good way. I like the fabric on these newer ones better, they really are like the old army surplus shorts I had and loved so dearly. For reference, I am a 5'6" slender female, 120 lbs. So for all you slim hipped gals out there, these pants are a winner!
I usually err on the side of wearing denim - but because of my past satisfaction with your suggestions, I tried the chinos - great fabric and terrific fit. Guess I have to now make an exception to my usual wardrobe choices.
Best khaki on the market. And the customer service is incredible
I've searched high and low for pants like these chinos. I'm 6'2 and wear a 32. I don't know if I could be more satisfied with the fit, the service and the quality. Perfect weight, so they move exactly how you'd want and without sacrificing craftsmanship or durability. Great job guys.
Great quality great fit, like all the other items in own from this brand. Each time I open this envelope from Sausalito, I become the 11 year old kid I was , all excited opening his Christmas gift !
