"Straight leg" is a term that is easily understood when it comes to jeans fit descriptions. Our Ankara straight leg is a "true" straight leg -- from the thigh to bottom opening is a straight line. It is a mid-rise jean with some room throughout but by no means "dad jean".

Why is this fit named "Ankara"? Because this guy was born there!

Made with beautiful red line black/black 13.5 oz selvedge denim from Japan in San Francisco, California -- The Home of Blue Jeans.

Great but color is fading quick

Posted by Alex on 20th Dec 2019

These are thick good jeans, but the color seems to be fading much quicker from parts compared to other black jeans I have from Gustin and Nudie. Maybe consider dark blue or double black cross yarn to make the fading less noticeable? I don't wear them that often either and have only washed them by hand once. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Beautiful Black Jean

Pure black high quality jeans! Perfect fit for me, I tried the Blubaugh first and they were a little too snug. These fit my legs great, I have a 32inch waist with muscular athletic legs and the Ankara's are the perfect cut for athletic builds that don't want them tight. As for the customer service, Tony was great. I sent 2 pairs back in for hemming and they turned them around in one day and also my refund for the first set of jeans i ordered was credited promptly. Very easy online transaction!

    Great jeans

Great fit. The waist is a little high but I never tuck in my shirt . Tellason are the only jeans I have found that fit me right. At 6ft 4in 250lbs it can be very challenging to find jeans that I like.

I don't wear selvedge denim. At least, I didn't prior to these. I'm a Levi's 550/Dickies type dude. However, the quality of selvedge denim had always appealed to me. I just couldn't find any that had the right fit. I don't want my jeans painted on, and I don't want 'em tapered ltighter at the ankle than a pair of sweatpants. No disrespect to anyone who prefers such fits, just not my get-down. When I discovered Tellason, I wrote to them explaining that I'm a guy who doesn't know the difference between Sanford & Sons and Un-Sanford & Sons, and that based on my fit preference, they could switch my order from a 38 to a 40 as they saw fit. Pete responded quickly, and was kind enough to send a pair in each size, asking only that I return whichever one didn't fit (Customer service on point - take notes, any other brands trolling). The 38's fit true to size, the quality and construction is top notch, and I'm back, buying the straight leg stock denim this time just prior to writing this. There's one word that sums up my experience with Tellason as a whole: Quality. Treatchoself.

    Better Black

I love them! They are my new favorite black denim. I bought some of the black Tellasons from last year that were partially made of recycled material. The old ones are still going strong, but the new Japanese ones are much blacker and nicer in my opinion. Excellent service, too.
