A NOTE FROM PETE & TONY

Every time we get an order for the John Graham Mellor jean, we get a little pat on the back, metaphorically speaking. It was the very first jean we ever made and the second fit did not come around for 2 more years.

That was 15 years ago and I can't help to think about other products we all use that just stand the test of time. Maybe someone at the WD-40 plant has the same feeling, if they are really into that magical can of lubricant. People buy it, use it plenty and when it runs out, you try to get another can on your next run to the hardware store.

Our John Graham Mellor slim straight jean is our version of an iconic fit, that would look solid for decades to come. This 16.5 oz. selvedge fabric is our heaviest (and my favorite) so get ready to break them in the old fashioned way - wear them a ton and don't baby them in the slightest. What you will get down the road will be a real gem of a pair of jeans with all the battle scars of your own life, not the path of a misdirected Dremel tool or block of sandpaper from a washing house.

Stocked up and ready.

Enjoy the ride and thanks for your support,

Tony Patella

    So much character !

These are my favorite blue jeans I ever owned. The JGM brings so much character with its slim straight fit . Works great with chucks or even moc toe boots. If you want a rigid / high quality pair of selvedge denim , look no further !

Just got these back from getting hemmed and I never want to buy another style. I have several Tellason garments and the quality is top notch on all of them.

    Perfection

My first straight-legs and my first 16.5 oz heavyweights. I'm delighted. Fit over engineer boots perfectly but still look slim and trim and awesome. And the extra-heavyweight denim will be perfect this fall. I love my other Tellasons, but these are my new faves.

The JGM low rise straight fit cut is great! And the 16.5oz denim weight is the most durable denim I have worn -highly recommend!

    Mellor Jeans

I have purchased 8 pairs of the Mellor jeans Over the past several years. Great fit and long wearing under some very tough conditions… From the bush of the Canadian North, to the Amazon to the Atacama desert.

    sizing thoughts... bad ass jeans

Posted by Neil Loudermilk on 7th Jan 2022

Hopefully this real-world sizing experience may help others in my fit predicament... since I like a more snug fit, wanted thicker denim, and need a low rise, I went with the 16.5 oz JGM, however I have a powerlifter build with a very low waist... 5'10" 230lbs with 32" inseam... basically jeans need to sit on my hips and that hip (low waist) measurement on me is 34-35" depending on the time of year... thigh is 24", calf is 18"... I wear size 33 or 34 in mainstream brand jeans (all 100% cotton, NO spandex)... I saw JGM reviews where people went with a size 2" smaller than their waist measurement, so I went with size 33 JGM originally... I could barely get them on but could not move my legs at all when I managed to do so, and could not button even the very bottom button... I then had a great phone conversation with Pete and decided to try JGM 35's next... after the 2-hour cold soak and wearing them damp for a few hours after wringing out what water I could, then letting them hang and air dry overnight, they are absolutely perfect... crazy perfect, like they were tailored for me... the leg opening on these is perfect for wearing cowboy boots FYI... great experience and I will be buying more... thanks Pete...
