The Tellason Stock Jean Jacket is made in San Francisco, California from 14 oz. non-selvedge sanforized Cone Mills denim. Two exterior side pockets, two chest pockets and two interior pockets.
A note from Pete & Tony...
Of course, we will always be true to our selvedge story. The whole tale speaks of what we love about real denim culture and the details that make this an important part of the denim landscape around the world. We are equally proud of our products built with non-selvedge denim from Cone Mills.
Back when Cone Mills was open in Greensboro, North Carolina, we felt a very strong urge to give them as much business as possible, sensing that more denim makers were taking their denim purchases overseas to save a few dollars. This never entered our orbit. In fact, we were talking about building jeans and jackets the same way, at the same place (San Francisco) as our regular selvedge products, but using a non-selvedge fabric, which takes the price waaay down.
Once we committed to our Tellason Stock project, we met with our friends at House Industries to figure out the branding part of things. We sent over some old pants we found at a police officer supply warehouse that had interior labels that were very simple and utilitarian minded. About a day later, the wizards at House Industries showed us their interpretation of a scaled down, industrial oriented branding story and that was it.
I struggled for years to find a traditional denim jacket that fit the way I like it (6’2/215). I ordered an XL and couldn’t be happier. Fits great with just a tshirt but allows enough room to layer sweatshirt. Cannot wait to wear this thing out.
I'm 5'10 and 155lbs. I ordered a Medium. It fits perfectly! Construction is solid! All the seams are perfect. Buttons are secure. I really like that the inside or "hidden" pockets are lined! Very satisfied overall. Will absolutely be buying some more Tellason items down the line.
I am so pleased with this jacket. Hard to believe I am 51 years old, and this is my first jean jacket. I am 6'3" and 210 lbs and the XL fits me perfectly. Trim fit but still has plenty of room for a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. This is my first purchase of a Tellason product, and it will definitely not be my last!
The "Item if the Week" coincided with my birthday, and I had been already thinking about getting either a denim shirt or jacket. So, we'll call that kismet. I went with a large; and, upon a very prompt receipt, gave the jacket an initial soak and wore it wet, letting it dry on me as I went about my weekend errands. I've wanted to wait a few weeks before putting up a review... Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. It's not a ubiquitous Type 3. There's enough detail without being overly busy. I like having the internal stuff pockets. The weight is good, and the denim, while crisp, is nicely soft against the skin. The jacket works across the board for me: relaxed fit Carhartts and a plaid, chinos and an Oxford, or Canadian tuxedo with selvage and a white tee. It all works. The only thing that the jacket is missing is a locker loop. It's not a huge, huge, huge deal, but... it would be kinda nice.
Absolutely happy to have a denim jacket made of American (Cone Mills!) denim and made in America at a fair price. Well made and fits well. Glad I followed the fit directions, since at 5'11" and 210lbs I would have likely selected an XL, but the XXL recommended fits perfectly.
5 ft 11 inches 49 inch chest. XXL fit just about right. Fabric and color are impressive. at 14.5 oz, it is what a jean jacket should be.
This is probably the best value jean jacket you will ever see. Top quality. Great manufacturing. Designed well and looks lovely on. As with most trucker jackets, be careful with the size you choose. I am normally a medium in jackets but went for the large and its a great fit. Go to the sizing page on the website and trust the dimensions the team provide. You won't go wrong.
This jacket has a deep blue color from the heavy indigo dye and great substantial fabric weight. Fits great, not too tight but definitely not loose or baggy either --as others have mentioned, go a size up from what you usually wear for the perfect fit. I look forward to wearing this jacket for years to come!
Love everything about this jacket. well made and incredibly affordable. my only complaint is the sizing is a little hard to pin down. they do provide a measurement guide but I had to search for it. Both the trucker jacket and the coverall jacket exceed expectations.
