The Tellason Stock Jean Jacket is made in San Francisco, California from 14 oz. non-selvedge sanforized Cone Mills denim. Two exterior side pockets, two chest pockets and two interior pockets.
A note from Pete & Tony...
Of course, we will always be true to our selvedge story. The whole tale speaks of what we love about real denim culture and the details that make this an important part of the denim landscape around the world. We are equally proud of our products built with non-selvedge denim from Cone Mills.
Back when Cone Mills was open in Greensboro, North Carolina, we felt a very strong urge to give them as much business as possible, sensing that more denim makers were taking their denim purchases overseas to save a few dollars. This never entered our orbit. In fact, we were talking about building jeans and jackets the same way, at the same place (San Francisco) as our regular selvedge products, but using a non-selvedge fabric, which takes the price waaay down.
Once we committed to our Tellason Stock project, we met with our friends at House Industries to figure out the branding part of things. We sent over some old pants we found at a police officer supply warehouse that had interior labels that were very simple and utilitarian minded. About a day later, the wizards at House Industries showed us their interpretation of a scaled down, industrial oriented branding story and that was it.
Nicely manifactured with great fit and solid denim fabric, I am in between XL and XXL, sp for this piece I was suggested to go for an XXL, which was a tiny bit to large, but aftera gentle machine wash and air drying the jacket fits like custom made!
My favorite Jacket was a Levi's type 2 but it was lost a few years back. I own a LC King unlined raw denim barn jacket (L) and it's great. This will certainly be my new favorite western jean jacket, it's also the only one I own now. It's ticks every box with the heavy denim, 6 pockets, great hardware and classic structure. I wear Large and XL when I purchase more slim cut jackets. I'm a 40 waist and 42 chest about 190 currently. I'd originally ordered the XL and Tellason recommended XXL based on my 40 waist in Ankara jeans. I took the advice and although I might have just squeezed into the XL I'd probably not be able to layer even a flannel. This jacket fits me like a nicely cut regular fit in XXL. I wear a 48 in Baracuta Classic Harrington if that helps. I'm proud of this jacket, it's perfect.
I recently was looking for a new denim jacket and picked up both a Tellason Stock jacket and a Levi's Engineered Jeans jacket. I returned the LEJ jacket. While a heavier material, the Tellason also felt better constructed, had internal pockets and is made in the USA. I feel great on all fronts. The biggest difference, too, is I feel like as this jacket wears in, it'll be fully mine and formed to me. I look forward to having this jacket for years.
Well cut and of the quality you'd expect from Tellason. Really happy with the purchase.
Have wanted a high quality type 3 jacket for a while, and this one perfectly fit the bill. Cone Denim, well made, high quality at a good price.
This jacket fits great. I'm 155 lbs, 5'7" and wear a 31w 30L pant. My suit size is around 38 or 40 depending on cut and function. I really like this jacket. The weight is perfect. The stitching is flawless. I like that are no flashy engraving or embroidery on this. It's a great value, coming in as more expensive than Levi's, but with a much higher quality control. I've owned a Gustin, Rogue Territory, and Levi's jackets. This is the best value for sure. The fit is perfect for me. It's not loose, but also not too tight. I'm basically wearing it as a long-sleeve shirt. I can't wait to see how it turns out after 6 months of wear. If I had the money, I would have purchased both this jacket and the selvedge to see if there are any major differences over time. Either way, I'm very happy with this purchase. Nice job, guys...
I bought this on sale because I've been wanting a raw denim jacket for a while, and I am very impressed! Construction and fit are top notch. Even though it's not selvedge, I don't see any real difference in quality.
Outstanding quality product, really nice people to do business with. Not the lowest price but well worth the money. I will do business again. Thank you!
Quality jacket at a great price, customer service and communication superb, my first purchase from Tellason, will definitely be buying more of their products. Proof that USA based clothing manufacturing can and does work.
