A NOTE FROM PETE & TONY

I worked in the Polo department at Bullock's back in 1985 and my pinner paychecks that were supposed to be spent on food and books at the SDSU bookstore often took a left turn and ended up back into the store that was paying me to sell men's clothing.

I was not completely irresponsible and had the wherewithal to select my gear that was heavily marked down. In 1985, that meant pink and turquoise rugby shirts, a bomber jacket that I did not need and some twill pants with no belt loops (just side tabs to pull tight). I remember the one full price item I sprung for in that coveted department - the classic chambray shirt. If my sister did not lose it for me I would still have it today, holes and all.

Now that Tony and I have been making clothes for 14 years, it is clear that the things we grew up with are the same things we make today. No expiration, no frills, just beautiful classics like our Clampdown Chambray Shirt.

    Great company and shirt. Be aware of sizing. I’m 6’2” 235lbs with a 48” chest. I’m normally an XL in most shirts but the XXXL fits perfectly, especially after one wash and air dry. I can get by with an XXL if I want a slimmer fit but tends to pull through the back and chest.

    Well made shirt overall. Made in USA. Sleeve length is perfect for someone that is 6’1”. The upper sleeves are a bit loose however I could probably use some dumbbell curls. Two minor gripes - the cuff flaps are missing the mid button. No idea why as the other tellason chambray has one. The flap button is nice to have when rolling up the sleeves. I’ll take to my tailor for sewing a new button in there. The pockets are symmetrical which is a must for me.

    I really like this shirt. The build quality and material on this shirt are great. Unfortunately, I had to return is as I ordered the wrong size, and my size is not in stock. I hope XXL is available soon.

    The fit...I'm 6' 205 lb and relatively athletic, the XL is the right amount of tight across the chest and then is properly tapered down to the waist. The look / feel...I LOVE this shirt it became my favorite as soon as I put it on. I wore it to my office, received completely unexpected compliments. Excellent shirt, I cannot recommend it more highly.

    Nice fabric and very well made. The fit is great. Be aware that it is a trimmer fit, not a fuller (i.e., looser) cut shirt. Classic styling. Reminds me of the workshirts I wore as a kid in the ‘70’s! Service and shipping is excellent. Thanks Tellason!

    This is such a nice shirt. Wonderful fabric, crispy and light. Great color. I like the slightly over sized buttons. The stitching details are well done. This shirt should last a long time.
