A note from Tony & Pete

Like any small company, we started with one fit, then two, then three.  For a few years now, we have had a full deck with seven fits- most of them derivatives of something we had already made.  The Elgin is of our slim tapered Ladbroke Grove fit throughout the leg but we lengthened the rise about 1.5 inches.  If you have worn our Ladbroke Grove, this will feel exactly the same but will sit a bit higher at the waist.

We would love to claim all the design inspiration for everything we make but the Elgin was most definitely put into motion by the extremely stylish, Mr. Steve Kang, owner of BlackBlue in St. Paul, Minnesota.  He had been selling our jeans for a while but leaned on us to take our best seller, the Ladbroke Grove, and give it a higher rise.  It was an easy pattern adjustment and our first prototype came out just as we wanted it to be.  If you have any concerns about the old ass crack getting loose, this may be the fit for you.  For me, mid-rise fits are the way to go.  Just wear them a bit low, creating some sag but not too low to show the world your bun hugger de jour.

The name- "The Elgin" was a local bar in Ladbroke Grove (London) where the lads of The Clash used to order an adult beverage or two.  It is still there but it certainly looks 10 X more posh than what was happening in 1977.

    Elgin 16.5

Love! I bought these to replace my 5 year old pair of Elgins, which I’m finally retiring. Really liking the new denim. I’m a tall guy and this cut fits perfect.

    Elgin 16.5

Was hankering a fit with a little less leg volume than the Sheffield but with a little more room in the crotch than the Ladbroke- boom. The Elgin is great. (6-3, 230, typically wear 38). My 5th pair of Tellasons.

    My Favorite Jeans

Posted by Clay Wiese on 26th Feb 2020

I’ve owned three pairs of Tellason’s over the last 5 years. The JGM was my first purchases and I’m still wearing those. Then I bought the Ladbroke Grove’s and preferred the over the JGM due the slimmer cut. The Elgin’s are my favorite because it gives me the same slimmer cut as the Ladbroke Grove’s but with the mid-rise which I really like. Highly recommend any of the jeans I mentioned but Elgin’s are my new jean of choice.

    Nailed it!

Another excellent product! After living in my Tellason tapered chinos for a few years now, I wanted a jean cut to a similar fit and the Elgin nails it. Switching from my Ankara and Sheffield has taken some time but the Elgin may be my new denim home. The rise is just slightly lower than those models and the fit isn't too slim at all. Wearing mine, I look almost as good as Pete does in the product photos. A black version would be nice. Just saying…

    Let Be Tellason

Posted by Sergey on 24th Jul 2018

This is third Tellasons thing that I have as well second with 16.5 Oz.of White oak mills shuttle loom denim. The JJacket and the Elgin. My waist size is 33. The Elgin size is 33 actually perfect fit. First it was Tellason Stock jeans in size 33. They are made from another more soft and blue denim with 14 OZ that fit some loose than Elgin closer to 34 size. I very satisfy because it was first and last chance to get real hi quality jeans sewn by Tellason from US legendary White oak cone mills fabric.

If you've been thinking about it, take the plunge!

Simply the perfect pair of jeans. The fit is excellent. The construction seems solid, like they won't ever fall apart. If you've been thinking about buying Tellason, grab yourself a pair before the White Oak denim is gone forever.

Tellason are the only jeans worth buying.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, having purchased many different brands of jeans during my lifetime [I'm now 65] starting with Lev's then Wrangler followed over the years with 7 For All Mankind, Dickies, Edwin, Helmut Lang, Paul Smith, etc., etc., etc., ... in fact I have tried most brands on the market ... when I bought my first pair of Tellason jeans I decided that these are by far the best jeans I have ever worn and owned. Since my first pair I have had around six or seven pairs and I continue to recommend them to everyone I meet. Customer service is second to none and the quality is superb.
