Tapered leg, button-fly Chino.  Made in San Francisco, Calif. USA of heavyweight (10 oz.) Japanese twill.  Fit guide

A NOTE FROM PETE & TONY

Tony and I are big fans of a proper pair of Chino pants. We wore them as high school kids early on with more of a preppy tone. Then off to SDSU in 1983, where there were plenty of military supply shops selling old, high waisted Chinos. We got them tapered as hell, which felt more Ca. punk than the preppies still rolling around town with their collars popped and a cable knit sweater draped over their shoulders.

With US textile factories closing, Tony found this fantastic twill, made in Japan. We feel it is the best we have ever used for our tapered leg and straight leg Chinos.

So straight from the SF factory to our HQ to possibly your doorstep, comes our Chino’s.

Enjoy ya'll,

Tony Patella

    Quality made, comfortable classic

Well constructed. The Carlisle fabric is soft yet durable. The taper is not too aggressive, the cut is not too tight and very classic. They can be dressed up with a shirt and tie or dressed down easily. Not too much shrinkage that I have noticed so far. Overall a great purchase. I ended up exchanging for a size down and getting the pants hemmed - the guys at Tellason were fast, friendly and efficient with their customer service.

    Sturdy, classically stylish, exceptional fit!

Recently discovered these chinos. What a nice surprise. Reminds me of a pair I had in college that were (almost) indestructible. Great fit, fabric and love the button fly. Thanks Tellason.

    Great pair of Chinos

I thought I was not going to like these since I am not a tapered kind of guy. They are really not that tight, the fit, material and color is very classic and comfortable. To me the fit is quite similar to the Sheffield jean. I ended up going up a size since I toss them in the dryer. These are not a dress up but more of a traditional military work chino. If you want an alternate from wearing jeans I will definitely give these a try.

Great New Fabric with same Great Fit!

I was a big fan of the tapered chino in the Cramerton cloth that was discontinued. I was excited to see that a replacement cloth was sourced from Carlisle. The new fabric is tremendous. I think it actually has a nicer hand to it and washes better than the Cramerton. I would highly recommend these chinos. The fit is awesome and they wear extremely well. Definitely worth every penny.

A workhorse without looking like one.

The fabric is great. Durable but not stiff. Washes up amazingly. It snaps right back to shape. The taper is perfect. They are work pants but refined enough to wear as civvies. Wish more colors would become available.

    The Perfect Chino

Posted by JD on 16th Aug 2016

I've tried them all. I've worn them all. These are it. perfect combo of vintage / classic Army chino but with a cut that is a perfect silhouette. Not tight, not too loose. No adjustments needed here. Solid craftsmanship and great fabric. It doesn't get any better.

    Quality & Comfort

These are the perfect summer pants! Tellason produces high quality garments, and the tapered chino is no exception. Cramerton army cloth is soft and wears well. At 6'2" & 170lbs, I wear a 31W Sheffield, and these 32W chinos feel like they were tailored just for me. I may have to pick up a straight leg, too...

    The fit is just right

As soon as I was allowed to make my own clothing choices, I opted to wear jeans all the time. Shorts in summer were for swimming. Any pants other than jeans were “dress pants” and qualified as some sort of punishment. My time living in Arizona made me incorporate shorts into my life, but grudgingly. I just like jeans. I live in a cooler climate now but summer still has to be dealt with. The Cramerton Chino struck me as interesting on a few different levels. The history of the fabric is one. The story of broke college students buying surplus pants and having them altered to be cool is another. I thought about giving them a try more than once but other things got in the way. Finally, the announcement of the Cramerton mill closing forced me to act. One horrible thing led to something good. The fit of these chinos just works. I’ve seen others describe them as slim fit but I’m not certain I’d go that far. Tailored is too formal. There just isn’t a lot of extra material being wasted where it doesn’t need to be. Anyone who has purchased from Tellason before knows that a smart, practical design isn’t new for these guys. The fabric is sturdy but light and looks like it will age quite gracefully. Most importantly, my wife says my butt looks good in them. She is getting older and her eyesight isn’t what it used to be so, who knows… Now I have something worth wearing as the mercury rises. I hope the fellas can find a nice fabric to replace the one we’re losing. I’d like to see this design around for a long time to come.

    Great Chinos

Posted by Unknown on 11th May 2016

These chinos are built right. Great fabric and nice cut. They are not too skinny but a great alternative to the typical straight cuts out there. Keep making these Tellason, I'll be back for another pair.
